Stuffed capsicum oothappam.
Oothappam is made with dosa or idly batter.I was planning to make something different for my breakfast. I made the oothappam in a different way this time.. I was having some capsicum at home. Thought of making stuffed oothappam . Very simple to make with different tastes. Capsicum oothappam is good for lunch box .Let us see how to make this.
Preparation time approx. 10 to 12 minutes minutes
- 2.Big size capsicum ( you can try with yellow and red capsicum also)
- 1 cup idly or dosa batter
- 3 tbsp grated carrot
- 1 small chopped tomato with out seeds
- 1 small chopped onion.
- chopped coriander leaves.
- 2 chopped green chilly
- salt to taste.
Mix all these veggies and salt. Keep aside.
you can add any vegetable of your choice like paneer, peas, beans, cabbage, baby corn , cheese etc.
Take one big size capsicum
Slice it in to a thick piece.
Sprinkle little salt and microwave for 1 minute. It should be firm .or on a hot tawa add little oil and roast this on low fire for few seconds and take out. or you can directly roast on fire for few seconds.
In a nonstick dosa pan keep the capsicum ring.
Keep the stove on low flame.
Add very thin layer dosa batter inside the capsicum ring. Wait for few seconds to cook.Otherwise batter will leak.
If you are pouring the batter fully it will leak outside the ring.
Now fill it with some more dosa batter and chopped veggies, paneer or cheese of your choice.
Sprinkle oil or butter and cover cook in low flame.
cook only one side.
Serve with ketchup or chutney
