Mulagushyam is a very popular traditional dish from Palghat. I learnt this recipe from my husband’s grand ma who is an excellent chef. This dish is very healthy with moong daal and country vegetables. Let us see how to prepare this simple dish.
Preparation time approx 30 minutes.
- 2 cups cubed yam
- 1 cup raw plantain (nendarankai )
- 100 grams avarakkai (broad beans)
- 1/4 cup Mocha kottai (Field beans)
- 2 green chillies
- 1 tbsp coarsely pepper powder
- 1/2 cup cooked yellow moong dal.
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- salt to taste
- few curry leaves
- 1tbsp coconut oil.
Boil all vegetables with turmeric powder and salt. Slit green chillies and add .
Add pepper powder.
Cook the vegetables.When the vegetables are cooked add the cooked moong dal.
Finally add few curry leaves and some coconut oil.
You can use yam alone or banana alone. Or add ash gourd also.
