Pacharisi Idly.(Raw rice Idly)

Raw rice Idly is making during festival time like Ganesh chathurthi, vrath time. I made this Idly and forgot to post here in my blog. Idly is less calorie food and easy to diagest also. Sambar or any kind of chuney goes very well with this Idly . Let us see how to make this Idly.

Preparation time approx 15 minutes.

Soaking time over night or 5 to 6 hours.


  • 4 cups of raw  rice.
  • 1 cup of whole white urad daal.


Soak urad daal and separately over night or 5 to 6 hours.

Grind both daal and rice speaparately in a wet grinder. Mix both the batter. Add salt. Mix it throughly.

Keep this for fermentation. Let it ferment anf raise up.

Grease the Idly moulds and fill the moulds with idly batter. Heat little water in a Idly cooker or any vessel which you are planning to keep the idly plates.

Once the water started boiling keep the idly plate and close it with a lid. Steam cook for 8  tp 910minutes. Open the lid and check whether it is cooked.

Insert a pin or a stick . It should come out neatly. Then your idlies are ready.
