Drumstick/ muringa flower curry

Drumstick flower or muringa poo or moringa flowers has many health benefits.

It is good for diabetes. My grama used to tell it will cure excess bleeding for women during menstruation time. Drumstick flowers are rich in vitamin C ,A, B1 ,B2 and B3.

We can make many dishes with drumstick flowers. It is a good side dish for rice, roti etc.

Let us see how to make this healthy curry.

Preparation time approx 15 minutes.

Ingredients.

1 cup tightly packed drumstick flowers.

1/4 cup moong daal.

1 small or half tomato.

1 small onion chopped.

2 green chillies.

1/4 tsp turmeric powder.

Few curry leaves.

1/2 tsp asafoetida

Salt to taste.

1tsp oil/ ghee

1/2 tsp mustard seeds.

1/2 tsp jeera.

Garlic is optional. ( I have not added)

Method.

Pressure cook moong daal, tomatoes, green chillies and turmeric powder.

In the meantime in a kadai /pan add ghee. Add mustard seeds. Let it splutter. Add cumin seeds or jeera, asafotedia and curry leaves

Now add chopped onions. (if you are using garic add now ). Add cooked daal. Add salt. Add washed drumstick flowers. Add little water and cook for 3 minutes. Add water and adjust the consistency. Switch off the flame.

It’s a good side dish for rice and roti.
