This recipe I learnt from my friend. It is very easy to make and tasty. It will go well with dosa ,roti, puri etc. Let us see this simple recipe.
Preparation time approx. 20 to 30 minutes.
Soaking time 7 hours or overnight.
Ingredients.
1 cup kabuli channa.
2 tomatoes.
3 cashewnuts
1 tsp chilli powder (adjust according to your taste)
1 tsp dhaniya powder.
1/2 tsp channa masala
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 bay leaf.
Small piece cinnamon.
2 cloves.
Few chopped coriander leaves.
Little kasturi methi
Salt to taste.
1 tbsp oil or ghee
1/2 tsp jeera.
Pressure cook soaked channa.
Keepaside.
Method.
Grind one tomato with cashews.
In a kadai add oil or ghee. When it is hot add jeera let it fry. Add bay leaf, cinnamon, cloves . Saute well. Add 1 finely chopped tomato. Fry this on low fire till becomes mushy. Add ground tomato cashew paste. Cook till oil separates. Now add coriander( dhaniya) powder, red chilly powder and channa masala, turmeric powder and salt. Mix well. Add cooked channa with water. Let it boil. Add kasturi methi. Mix well. Close it with lid cook for 5 minutes. Garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve hot.
