Today I tried quinoa with black urad daal
Pongal is one of the popular cuisine from Tamilnadu. Let us see how to make this simple dish.
Preparation time approx:30 minutes.

We can change the proportion of quinoa and urad daal according to our tastes.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup quinoa
1/2 cup whole black urad daal.
1 tsp grated ginger
1 green chilli
1 tbsp whole pepper.
1 tsp jeera.
2 tbsp ghee
1/ 2 tsp asafoetida.
Salt to taste.
Few chopped curry leaves
Method.
Wash the quinoa and urad daal together.
In a pressure cooker add ghee. When it is hot add jeera and pepper corns.
Now add 1 green chilli , curry leaves and asafoetida. Saute well.
Add 4 cups of water. Now add salt.
Let the water boil. Now add the washed quinoa and urad daal. . Let the mixture boil. Mix it it well. Close it and pressure cook for 7 to 8 whistles.
When the pressure is reduced add curry leaves. Servehot with sambar or . chutney
