Kudo millet tomato rice.

Millet is considered as an ancient grain that is high in nutrients and may have health benefits. It is a natural source of many nutrients including magnesium. Kudo millet is good for diabetics.

I tried Tomato rice with kudo millet. I cooked rice and added tomatoes, onions and some spices.

Let us see how to make this rice. We need not have any side dish for this. Any kind of raitha is a good combo for this

Preparation time approx. 30 minutes.

  •  1/4 cup  or little less cooked peas.
  • curry leaves
  • 1/2 tsp  chilly powder ( optional)
  • 1/4 tsp dhaniya powder.

Method.

Cook the millet adding water and salt  in a pressure cooker for 3 to 4 whistles. keep aside.

In a nonstick pan add 1 tsp coconut oil and 1 tsp ghee.

Add mustard, jeera. then curry leaves, chopped green chilly and hing. Now add sliced onions. just saute it for few seconds.

Add  chopped tomatoes. let it cook . Sprinkle little water. Cook on slow fire.Let the raw taste go then add all masala’s. Add cooked peas. Add salt only for the onion tomato ,peas mixture.  Add cooked millet. Mix well.  Add coriander leaves.

Tips.
