Pudina tomato onion chutney

My daughter always like chutney for dosa, Idly, Parathas, Kozhukkattai ect. Today i was planning to make a simple spicy chutney for her. I want to make  any kind of greens per day in my menu.So today i tried this pudina ,onion, tomato chutney for dosa. It is spicy tangy in taste. Let us see how to make this.
Preparation time  approx 15 minutes.
  • 1 big size tomato
  • 1 onion
  • 1 cup pudina leaves
  • 2 pods of garlic. (Optional )
  • 2 green chillies
  • 2 red chillies
  • 1/4 spoon asafoetida.
  • 1 tbsp urad dal
  • 2 tbsp roasted gram dal
  • 2 tbsp coconut.
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  •  1/4 tsp urad dal
  •  1/4 tsp channa dal
  •  few Curry leaves.
In a pan add 1 tsp oil.When it is hot add urad dal. Roast till brown and take out.
Fry onions and garlic.
Add both chillies and hing
Then add tomatoes.let it mash nicely.
Add pudina. mix it
At the end add coconut and switch off gas.
Add roasted gram and salt.
Grind it .
Do not add much water.
Now add the seasonings.
Heat oil Add mustard. Let it crackle.
Add both dals
Add curry leaves and pour over the chutney.
