Sevai is a traditional dish made with rice . It is a type of rice noodles or vermicelli. Once you prepare the sevai we can make varieties of dishes . Today I tried pudina sevai which is spicy and tangy. We can prepare the masala and store also. Ready made instant sevai is available in the market. I used instant sevai to make this dish. Let us see how to make this easy breakfast .
Preparation time approx 20 to 25 minutes.
- 1 tbsp urad daal.
- 1 onion chopped
- 6 to 8 green chillies
- 1 small bundle of pudina leaves.
- 2 pods of garlic. (optional)
- salt to taste
- a gooseberry size tamarind.
- 2 tbsp thil oil
- hand full ground nuts
- 1/2 tbsp mustrad seeds.
- 1/2 tsp channa dal
- 1/2 tsp urad dal
- few curry leaves
- 1/2 tsp asafoetida
Make the instant sevai as per instruction and keep aside.
Heat 1 tbsp oil. Add urad daal fry till it become brown. Take out and keep aside.
Add chopped onion and saute. Add green chillies, tamarind , hing and garlic. Saute .
At last add pudina leaves and saute. Do not cook for long time, it will change the color of pudina.
Grind all these in to a fine paste and keep aside.
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan.
Add mustard seeds. When it started spluttering add grounuts and roast. Now add canna and urad daals Let it become brwon then add asafoetida, and curry leaves. Add cooked sevai and the ground pudina paste .
No need to cook further.
