Tofu is very hing in protein. I was planning to make something different. Then i got the idea of making chilly tofu and soy nugget. Its very easy to make this recipe. We can have this spicy tofu soy nugget with fried rice, noodles or as an evening snack. Let us see how to make this.
Preparation time approx 15 minutes.
- 150 gram tofu
- 1 cup soy nuggets/
- 1 capsicum
- 4 spring onions
- 1 onion
- 5 garlic pods
- 1 tbsp grated ginger
- 2 tsp corn flour
- 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 2 tsp ketchup
- 1 tsp hot chilly sauce or sriracha sauce
- 1/2 tsp white pepper powder.
- 1/2 tsp kashmiri red chilly powder
- 4 tsp olive oil.
Heat a pan and add 2 tsp olive oil. Add sliced tofu and roast both sides and keep aside.
cut the capsicum in to pieces.Cut the onion in to quarter remove the slices.
Chop the spring onions.
Chop the leaves of the spring onion.
Soak the soy nuggets in hot water for 15 minutes. Strain it and squeeze it. Wash with water and squeeze for 3 or 4 more times to become clean. Keep aside
Mix cornflour with 1 1/2 cups of water. Add soy sauce, ketchup, chilly sauce,little salt. Keep aside.
Heat 2 tbsp olive oil. Add ginger and garlic saute for few seconds. Add spring onions and fry it. Add little salt. Take care we have already added little salt to the sauce.Now add onions and fry. When it started turning color add capsicum. Fry it. Add chilly powder and pepper powder.Add soy nuggets. Mix well.
Now add the corn flour mix . Cook well till the sauce becomes thick. At last mix the roasted tofu and mix well .Let the sauces and spice mix coated on the tofu well. Switch off the stove.
If you want more gravy type add little more water to sauce.
Garnish with chopped spring onion leaves.
