Raw banana methi tikkis

Raw banana tikkis are very easy to make and healthy evening snack with a hot cup of tea or coffee. . I was planning to make tikkis. I thought of avoiding potatoes. Raw banana is a good option for potatoes. Let us see how to make this yummy evening snack. You can have this tikki with coriander chutney or tomato ketchup.

 

Preparation time 30 minutes.

Ingredients.

  • 2 raw banana’s.
  • 1 small grated carrot.
  • 1/4 cup boiled peas.
  • 1/2 cup chopped methi leaves
  • 1 chopped onion.
  • 1 tbsp corn flour.
  • 2 chopped green chillies.
  • 1/2 tsp chilly powder.
  • 1/2 tsp amchur powder
  • 1/2 tsp dahaniya jeera powder.
  • salt to taste.
  • bread crumbs to dust the tikkis.
  • oil for shallow frying
  • Method.

Steam cook the raw banana’s in a idly pot or pressure cooker without whistle. Insert a needle or knife and check whether it is cooked. Do not over cook.

Peel the skin of the raw banana . Grate it or mash it.Add grated carrots, boiled little mashed peas, chopped methi leaves, chopped onions,cornflour, salt and all other ingredients other than oil. Do not add water. Mix all these and make a stiff dough.If your dough is sticky add little more corn flour.

Take a lemon size batter and make round shape tikkis.

Heat a tawa and sprinkle oil .

Dip the tikkis  in bread crumbs. Arrange this in the tawa and roast on medium flame.

When one side is roasted flip it in to other side.Let it become brown. Like this roast all the tikkis.
