Bindi masala is one of the easiest dish which goes very well with any Indian bread. We need only very few ingredients to make this. Today i made this recipe without onion and garlic. Let us see how to make this yummy creamy curry.
Preparation time 20 minutes.
- 20 bindi / ladies finger cut in to small pieces.
- 1 big size tomato cut in to small pieces
- 1/4 cup malai or cream.
- 1 1/2 tbsp channa daal / besan.
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp red chilly powder.
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder.
- 1/2 tsp asafoetida.
- 4 tbsp oil
- 1/2 tsp jeera.
- 1/4 cup chopped coriander leaves.
- 1/2 tsp kasturi methi.
- 1 chopped green chilly.
Wash and cut the bindi / ladies finger in to long pieces. Keep aside.
Heat oil and add the bindi. In the medium flame fry this . Once it is fried take out and keep aside.
In the same oil add jeeera, asafoetida, turmeric powder and chopped green chilly. Saute for few seconds. Keep the stove on medium flame. Now add the chopped tomato . Let it cook. Mash well. Now add the besan or channa daal fry till oil floats . Now add coriander powder and chilly powder . Sute well. Add 1 cup of water. Cover it and cook. When it started boiling add fresh cream and mix it immediately. Check the consistency of the gravy. If it is thick add little water and cook. Now add the fried bindi. Keep the stove on low fame. Cover and cook 4 to 5 minutes. Add chopped coriander leaves, and kasturi methi. Serve with roti.
