Mango floured coconut almond burfi

I was planning to make an easy sweet with in 15 minutes for my thursday prayer as prasadam.. I was having grated fresh coconut at home. With grated fresh coconut i made this yummy sweet adding mango flavour essence and little almond paste. Let us see how to make this yummy sweet.

Preparation time approx 15 minutes.


1 levelled cup grated fresh coconut.

20 almonds or badam.

3 tbsp milk

3 tbsp ghee or clarified butter.

1 full cup of powdered sugar.

few drops of mango essence.

few drops of yellow colour.

few pistachio pieces for decoration. ( optional)


Soak the almonds and remove skin. Grind the alonds with milk and make a fine paste. Add coconut Pulse it 2 or 3 time to crush the coconut.. Do not make in to very fine paste.

In the mean time grease a tray or glass box with ghee and keep aside

In a botton thick nonstick pan add this coconut paste, sugar powder. Mix well.

Now switch on the stove. Keep on stirring well. Sugar and the coconut paste will mix nicely. Add little ghee. After few minutes the coconut mixture will come from sides and it will not stick to the bottom. . Add full ghee, colour and essence. Mix it well. Take little water in a plate add little mixture .You should be able to make balls. This is the consistency. Switch of the stove and pour this in to a greased plate. Garnish with cashew or pista , kismis or any dry fruit of your choice.

Let it become cool. Now you can cut in to any shape
