Rawa laddoo

Let us start my New year with a sweet recipe. I made rawa laddoo for new year. Its one of the easiest, popular sweet dish from South India. Even beginners can make this sweet without failure. Let us see how to make this sweet.

Preparation time approx. 15 to 20 minutes.

1 cup rawa or suji.

1 1/4 cup sugar. ( if you want you can reduce a little)

1 tsp cardomom powder.

3 tbsp black kismis or raisins ( adjust the quantity as per your requirement)

3 tbsp cashewnuts.

1/4 cup melted ghee.

1/4 cup hot milk

In a kadai add 1 tsp ghee and dry roast the rawa . It should not change the colour. when you are touching it should be hot. Thats enough. Powder the sugar nicely. At the end add rawa and powder. I have not powdered the rawa nicle. I like rawa grits in my laddoo. If you want you can powder finely.

Heat 1 tbsp ghee and fry cashews till it become red add the black raisins.Add this to the powdered suji and sugar. Add cardomom powder. Mix everything fine. Heat the ghee and add little by little to the mixture. Mix with hands. you should be able to make it in to round balls. Do not add ghee too much.If your batter is still not wet add 2 tbsp hot milk and mix to get correct consistency. Add milk more if you needed. Make balls out of the mixture.

store in air tight container.

we are adding hot milk so ladoo wull not spoil. you can keep for few days.
