Arisi upuma.( In pressure cooker)

Arisi upuma is one of the popular breakfast dish in South Indian houses Today I am giving you the easiest method of making arisi upuma without any lumps. I made this in pressure cooker using store bought Idli rawa.

With in few minutes we can make this. Its a good option for lunchbox. We can have this with pickle,sambar,chutney or any other side dish of your choice.

We can add vegetables and onions if we want. I made plain uouma. Made sambar and chutney as side dish. Let us see how to make this upuma.

Preparation time approx 15 minutes.

Soaking time 10 minutes.

Ingredients.

1cup Idly rawa. ( store bought)

1/ 4 cup coconut gratings.

2 cups of water.

Salt to taste.

For Seasoning.

1 tbsp oil.

1 tsp mustard seeds.

1 tsp channa daal.

1 tsp urad daal.

2 chopped green chillies.

1 or 2 red chillies.

1/ 2 tsp asafoetida.

Few curry leaves.

Method.

In a kadai heat oil and add mustard seeds. Let it start splutter. Add both daals and fry. Let it become brown. Add both chillies,curry leaves, asafoetida. Now add coconut gratings and 2 cups of water.

Add salt. Let it boil add idly rawa mix and pour this in a vessel which can fit inside your pressure cooker.

Pour 2 cups of water in cooker. Keep the rawa vessel inside the cooker.

Close the pressure cooker with a lid and cook for 3 whistles. Switch off the stove.

Once steam has gone naturally open the cooker. Mix well. Wait for 2 minutes.

Mix it. It will crumple and you will get upuma without lumps.
