Long beans is a low calorie vegetable and hence can be consumed by those on weight loss. It has vitamin A and vitamin c. Being a green vegetable, it is rich in antioxidants, thus plays an important role in fighting cancer. It is rich in protein also.
Channa daal will not make you fat because it contains good fats like monosaturated and polyunsaturated fats.
Long beans with channa daal is good for weight loss and it is a good side dish for rice, roti etc.

Preparation time approx: 20 minutes.
Soaking time: 1 hour.
250 gram long beans cut in to pieces
1/3 cup channa daal soak for 1 hour.
1/2 tsp turmeric powder.
Salt to taste
1 tbsp coconut oil. ( or any oil)
1 tbsp mustard seeds.
4 red chillies.
1/2 tsp asafoetida
Few curry leaves.
2 tbsp grated fresh coconut ( optional)
Soak the channa and pressure cook for 1 whistle. Make sure it shouln’t be mushy. Keep aside.
Heat the pan. Add oil and heat. Add mustard seeds. Let it crackle. Add curry leaves, red chillies, asafoetida. Saute well. Add turmeric powder. Now add chopped long beans. Fry this in low flame. Cover this and cook. If you need sprinkle little water. Add salt. When long beans is 3/4 th cooked add cooked channa. Mix well. Saute for few more minutes. Add grated coconut and mix
