One pot Millet pasta in Tomato sauce

I have tried millet pasta in pressure cooker. I tried tomato based and white sauce pasta both in pressure cooker . Today I used kudo millet pasta for making this tomato based  pasta.

Let us see how to make Red sauce pasta.

I have not used cheese for healthier version. Begginers can easily make  this for lunchbox. You can use any type of pasta of your choice with this  measurements

Preparation time approx. 10 to 15 minutes.

Ingredients

1/ 2 cup Kodo millet pasta / Varagu pasta

1  Onion finely chopped

2 big  size  Tomato grated or pureed.

3 pods Garlic chopped

1/4 cup Capsicum  chopped.

2 beans cut into pieces.

Water – 1 cup or  just enough to cover pasta)

2 tbsp Olive oil

Salt – as needed

1/2 tsp  Pepper powder.

1/2 tsp Red chilli flakes.

Oregano / mixed herbs  as per your taste.

1 tbsp Tomato ketchup..

1/2tsp soya dause.

Method:

Switch on pressure cooker, add oil. Add garlic and onion, saute 1 minute. Add capsicum and beans.  Saute this. You can use any veggies of your choice.

Add tomato puree.  Add salt, pepper, chilli flakes, herbs  soya sauce and ketchup. Saute well.

Add the kodo millet pasta, mix well so it gets coated with tomato. Add 1 cup of  water. The water should be just at the level of pasta, not too much or it will become mushy.

Pressure cook. Close cooker lid. Keep on medium flame for 1 whistle only and then switch off immediately. Don’t wait for 2 whistles – millet pasta will overcook.

Let pressure release naturally for 5 minutes, then open. If there is little water, mix gently and keep closed for 2 more minutes – it will absorb.

If you are using chees grate it and add. Mix well.

Option. You can use any vegetables like corn mushroom, etc

You can add sauces of your choice.
