Ribbon Pakkodam

Ribbon Pakkodam is also known as nada thenkuzhal or ribbon murukku. It is very easy to prepare.

Preparation time:approx 30 to 40 minutes

Ingedients:

  • 1 cup rice flour
  • 3/4 cup besan or gram flour.
  • 4 tbsp cooking oil or 2 tbsp butter and 2 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste.
  • 2 tbsp red chilly powder
  • 1/4 spoon asafotedia.
  • Cooking oil for deep frying

Method::

In a big wide bowl mix rice flour,besan,red chilly powder,salt, asafotedia.

Heat 4 tbsp oil (or add 2 tbsp butter and 2 tbsp hot oil) and add to flour mix.

Add water little by little and make a stiff soft dough

In a big pan heat oil. When the oil is hot fill a portion of dough in the murukku press using ribbon Pakkoda achu (blade) and press directly to the oil in a circular shape.

Press only one layer.

When it is done on one side flip it to other side and cook.

When the sizzling sound stops take it from oil and spread on a paper towel.

Store in an air tight container.
