Millets being extremely healthy, I have tried to add it in our daily diet. Today, I tried my hand at making millet dosa with tomatoes for a little tangy flavour. This is pretty much an instant dish that can be made anytime. It turned out to be very crispy– I served this with shallot coconut chutney.
Ingredients
- 1 cup fox tail millet
- 1 cup little millet
- 1 cup rice flour (you can opt for wheat flour also)
- 1/2 cup whole white urad dal
- 1/2 tsp methi seeds
- 2 big tomatoes
- 6 to 7 kashmiri chillies
- Salt to taste
- Oil or ghee for making dosa
Method
Soak the millets and urad dal separately for 3 hours.
In a mixer jar, grind urad dal nicely adding very little water.
Add millets to urad dal. Grind for a few minutes.
Now add chopped tomatoes, red chillies, rice flour and salt. If your batter is very thick add very little water to it. Batter should be of medium consistency.
Grind well.
Heat a dosa pan pour one ladle full of batter and spread evenly.
Pour 1 tsp oil or ghee.
When once side is roasted flip the dosa.
When it is ready take out from pan and serve with any kind of chutney.
