I have tasted this dosa at Bangalore. Benne means Butter in Kannada. This dosa is very popular in Davanagere at Katnataka .Making the batter for this dosa is slightly different from normal dosa. Let us see how to make this dosa.

Preparationtion time 10 minutes.

Soaking time 5 to 6hours.

Method

Soak rice and Daal separately for 5 to 6 hours.
Soak urad,poha and methi together.

Grind rice and Daal separately.

Add together mix well and keep this for fermentation for 8 hours or overnight. Batter will rise up.
Once fermented add maida and soda to the batter and mix well.

Heat a tawa. Spread oil and wipe it.

When the tawa is hot spread a laddle full of batter in round shape.

Pour over 1 tsp butter  and spread it.

Flip the dosa and fry  till it turns crispy.

Before serving  add 1/2 tsp butter on the hot dosa.

Serve with chutney  and samabr.
