Heat little oil and add saunf ,garlic, ginger, green chillies and fry for few seconds then add chopped onion. Fry till it is transparent. Add coconut gratings and chopped coriander leaves. Fry for few more seconds. Remove it from fire. Let it come to room temparature. Now grind the masala in a mixer grinder in to a smooth paste adding little water.
