Keera vadai

Keera vadai is one of the popular evening snack from SouthIndia. This vada is little thicker at the same time crispy in texture. I used Amaranth leaves to make this vada. Let us see how to make this.

Preparation time approx 30 minutes

Ingredients.

1 cup whole urad daal.

1/ 4 cup channa daal.

1 cup chopped Amaranth/ thandu keerai leaves.

1 tbsp crushed pepper

1 tbsp chopped ginger.

2 chopped green chillies.

1/ 2 tsp asafoetida powder.

Salt to taste.Ooil for frying.

Method.

Soak both daals for 4 to 5 hours.

Grind this coarsely . Sprinkle little water to grind. It shouln’t be paste.

Add all other ingredients and mix well.

Make a small size ball from the batter. Put a hole in the middle. Deep fry on medium fire.

Flip it and cook till it becomes crispy.

Take out and serve.

Option you can use any greens.

If you wish you can add chopped onions.
