I love all chats. I thought of making something very healthy or without deep frying. I have tasted this mutter chat in Kenya.
Let’s see how to make this easy,yummy healthy chat .
Preparation time approx. 15 to 20 minutes.
Soaking time over night.
For green chutney.
1/2 bundle coriander leaves.
1/4 bundle pudina/mint leaves.
3 to 4 green chillies.
2 big piece of mango or 1/ 2 tsp amchur powder.
1/4 tsp black salt.
1/4 tsp lemon juice.
Salt to taste.
1/2 tsp chat masala..
1/2 cup dry peas ( soak over night)
1/2 small tomato.
1/2 finely chopped onions. 1
/ 4 tsp turmeric powder.
1/ 4 cup finely chopped coriander leaves.
1/2 to 1 tsp chat masala. ( as per taste)
1 tbsp oil.
1 tsp jeera.
1/4 tsp asafoetida.
Chopped onions and tomatoes for garnishing.
Sev to garnish.
Grind all ingredients under chutney and keep aside.
Pressure cook over night soaked green peas. Cook potatoes .
Grind everything adding 1 or 2 tbsp water.keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan add jeera and fry. Add half chopped onions. Fry till it turns colour. Add chopped tomato. Fry till mushy. Add mashed potato and cooked peas. Add turmeric powder and salt. Add 1 cup water, 2 tsp green chutney ( as per taste) . Cook well.
Add chat masala mix it.
Garnish with sev, coriander leaves and chopped onions and tomatoes.
