High protein roti.

Today I am going to give you a high protein roti made with green moong, horse gram, veggies and jowar/ sorghum atta.

Jowar, green moong and horse gram is highly recommended for diabetic people. Jowar is gluten-free millet which is filled with proteins.

Horsegram or kollu is protein enriched and it has lot of health benefits.

Some people may get gas/ bloating after consuming horse gram. To prevent this we can soak the horsegram over night or minimum 5 to 7 hours.

I used jowar atta to make this roti. You can use multi millet powder or any millet powder. Let us see the recipe

Preparation time approx 30 to 40 minutes.

Soaking time overnight or 5 to 7 hours.

Ingredients.

1/2 cup green moong daal

2 tbsp horsegram.( heaped spoon)

1/2 cup jowar atta

2 green chillies ( adjust spice level)

1 inch ginger

Small cup finely chopped onion

1/4 cup grated carrots.

Chopped coriander leaves/ any green vegetable

1/4 spoon asafotedia powder

1/4 spoon chilly powder

Salt to taste

Oil to make.

Method.

Wash both moong daal and horsegram. Soak it for 5 to 7 hours.

Discard water and grind moog daal and horsegram coarsely with chillies and ginger.Do not add water while grinding

Keep this in a bowl.

All all the ingredients other than oil. Mix everything well. Make a dough. If you need you can sprinkle little water to adjust the consistency.

In a chopping board or back side of a steel plate put a wet cloth.

Take a small ball size batter. Wet your fingers and spread it on the wet cloth. Heat a tawa. Put the roti on tawa. After 10 seconds take out cloth. Pour oil on roti. Cook both sides on medium fire.

Serve with pickle and curd.I made ginger chutney for this.
