Vendaya kal dosa or Methi dosa
This is One of the traditional variety of dosa . Vendayam means Methi seeds. We are adding more vendayam in this dosa than normal dosa. This dosa will be little thick like oothappam When we are making we can see lot of holes and will be spongy. Methi this is good for health. We can have this dosa with coconut chutney or Kara chutney or with sambar.
Preparation time approx . 3 minutes for each dosa:
Soaking 6 to 7 hours:
Fermentation 8 to 10 hours:
Boiled rice -1 cup
Raw rice – 3/4 cup
Urad dhal – 3/4 cup minus 1 tbsp
Methi seeds – 2 tbsp
Soak both rices together for 6 to 7 hours
Soak urad and methi together for 2 hours
Grind rice and dhal separately and mix together.
Add salt and mix well
Keep this in a warm place for fermentation for 8 to 10 hours.It should raise up.
Heat a thick dosa pan. Dust the pan with oil. Pour one ladle full of dosa batter. Make it little thick dosa. Pour 2 tsp oil around it.
When one side is cooked flip it. Cook the other side also.
Sever wit h your favorite chutney or sambar.
