Nendran Pazham Chundiyathu or Plantain with jaggery

Nendranpazham chundiyathu or plantain with jaggery

Preparation time approx 15 minutes:

  • 2 big size ripped Nendranpazham or plantain banana.
  • 100 gram jaggery
  • 1 tbsp ghee or clarified butter
  • 1/4 to1/2  cup water (if your bananas are well ripped add less water )

Cut the bananas into round shape

Heat a thick bottom tawa. Add banana.

Add 1/4 cup water. If your bananas are not ripped fully add little more water. Grate or break the  jaggery and add to bananas.

(Above showing one small piece of jaggery is 100 grams.)

Stir well.

Do not mash or cut the banana while stirring.

When it is cooked add ghee and stir. Jaggery should melt and coat the bananas.

When it is ready switch off the flame. Change the bananas into a bowl and serve.

I made with 10 bananas. Here i gave measurements for 2 ripped bananas.
