Multicoulor sweet

Hello Everyone, Happy Holi to you! Today I wanted to experiment one of the recipes I came across on Soni Cuisine’s blog. It’s a pretty interesting recipe.

It tastes like the peda but is a bit chewy in nature. It’s a treat for the eyes and the tummy!

Below is a step by step recipe with pictures.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup condensed milk, nearly 200ml
  • 3/4 cup milk powder
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 2 tbsp sugar ( as per taste)
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 2 tsp chopped cashews
  • Red and green gel food colors

Method:

In a heavy bottom pan add condensed milk and ghee .

let it boil.

Now add milk powder and mix well stirring constantly to avoid forming lumps.

Apply little ghee on your hand .

Take very small pinch of this dough in your hand and try to roll it.

If you are able to roll it  without sticking on your hand then your dough is ready .

If it is sticky cook for few more minutes. It will be very hot take care not to burn your hands.

Keep Aside for cooling.

Divide the dough in three parts . Make two portions equal size and 3rd one little less than this.

Now add green and red colors to equal part dough

Mix well to get desired color.

Leave the third one as it is.

Now add chopped cashews in red dough and again mix well.

Your doughs are ready .

Divide all the three doughs into equal portions.

Make round ball shape and keep.

Take the red ball and flatten it and keep the white ball inside the red

color flattened dough. Cover it and make a ball.

Now take the green color dough portion and flatten it with hands. Cover the red dough with this and make round shaped balls as shown in the picture.

Make all the dough like this. I got 6 round balls.

Keep this in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
