Soya nugget is known for high protein content. It is known to reduce the risk of osteoporosis in menopausal women .Spinach or palak besides being rich in iron, it is one of the principal resources of pigments, vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients. Thus, it is a promising food with an array of health benefits.
I got this idea of making this combination of soya nugget and palak from a television show. But I prefer oil less food. I tried this tikki in a sandwitch toaster. It came out very crispy. For binding i used channa daal and fried channa daal powder. Let us see how to make this simple healthy evening snack.
Preparation time approx 30 minutes.
Ingredients
- 3 cups chopped spinach or palak.
- 20 soya nuggets washed squeezed well and keep aside
- 1/2 cup channa dal or besan
- 1/2 leveled cup of powdered fried channa dal with skin.
- 1 tsp Amchur powder
- 5 green chillies chopped finely.( adjust according to your taste)
- 1/2 tsp chopped ginger.
- 1/2 tsp garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- Salt to taste.
Method.
Wash and squeeze the soya nuggets well and powder it .
wash and chop the palak or spinach .
powder the roasted channa daal( pottukadalai with skin )with skin.
Mix all the items very well.
Make a dough. If water needed sprinkle very less to make the dough.
Make round shape tikkis.
Brush little oil on the plates of the toaster.
Arrange the tikki on one side plate of the toaster. At a time totally 4 tikkis we can make.
Switch on the toaster. When one side is become red in colour turn the tikkis. Cook for some more time.
Open and check whether it is ready or crispy.
Make all the tikkis like this. No need of brushing oil all the time on plates.
Serve hot.
