Opos Rawa Kesari

Opos means one pot one shot. I learnt this opos method of cooking from Mr. Ramakrishnan from one food group. He has given many recipes in opos method. Today I am giving you very simple method of making Kesari with suji or rawa.

Kesari is one of the traditional sweet of South India.When we are using this opos method to make kesari no hassle of stirring, no need of standing near the stove, no tension of lumps forming. .Beginners can make this recipe without failure.

Let us see how to make this.

Preparation time approx 5 minutes and sitting time 20 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • a pinch of food colour
  • 1 tsp ghee
  • 1/4 cup of roasted rawa or suji

Method:

In a pressure cooker add water , ghee, sugar and  food color.

Pressure cook till one whistle

Manually release the pressure or steam.

Open the cooker

Add the roasted suji or rawa and close it with lid.

Keep it like that for 20 minutes.

No need of cooking again .

After 20 minutes kesari is ready.

Change into a glass bowl. Garnish with fried cashews or pistachio
