Rawa roti is an instant break fast or dinner recipe of Karnataka. It is crispy, spicy and very easy to make. There is no need of fermentation. We can have this roti with curd or any pickle or any chutney of our choice. I love to eat this roti with green chutney. I made this roti with bombay rawa , onions carrots and some spices. Let us see how to make this easy roti.
Preparation time approx 30 minutes.
Ingredients
- 2 cup rawa
- 1 big onion chopped
- 1 carrot grated
- Chillies
- 1/2 cup very thick curd. Do not use buttermilk.
- Salt
- Dhaniya leaves
- green chillies
- grated ginger ( optional)
- oil for making roti.
Method:
Chop the onions and green chillies.
Grate the carrots. cut the dhaniya leaves finely.
Now in a big mixing bowl Add all the ingredients. Mix everything. Make a dough.
Keep aside for 20 minutes. Cover it with a wet cloth.
Then take a big ball size batter spread it with hands on oiled aluminium foil or banana leaf or plastic paper.
Heat the tawa.
Smear it with oil. I prefer iron tawa. Not nonstick.
Now invert the roti on hot tawa. Pour little oil around the roti. cook .
when one side is roasted flip it and cook .
when it is crispy switch off the stove.
Serve with chutney, curd or any pickle.
