Rumali Roti

Rumali roti is and Indian flat bread recipe and can be just folded like handkerchief and so the name rumali roti. Traditionally rumali roti is made in a big wok inverted in a tandoor. Here I am going to give you an easy recipe to make this roti at home. I have not used  all purpose flour in this recipe. I made the roti with wheat flour which is more healthier version. It is very soft also in texture. Let us see how to make this roti.

Preparation time approx. 20 to 30 minutes.

Resting time of the dough at least 1 hour ( I kept for 2 hours)

Ingredients.

  • 2 cups of wheat flour
  • Warm milk to make the dough
  • Salt

Mix all the these to  make a soft dough. Cover it with cling film or wet towel.
Keep aside  for 1 to 2 hours .

Before making once again knead the dough.
Make equal ball size dough.
Take 2 balls.
Roll each ball like puri.

Apply oil on both puri size roti.
Sprinkle little rice flour.
Put the oiled portion of one puri above other puri.both oiled side facing same side.

Sprinkle wheat flour.
Spread the puri as thin as possible .

Heat a big flat tawa.

Put the roti on the tawa.

It will puff up.

Flip the roti. Press it with a towel.

Peel the roti and separate it.

Put the peeled roti on tawa for very few seconds. take out. Tke care it should not become crispy.

Make the all the rotis and serve with any curry of your choice.
