Methi roti
Methi leaves (fenugreek leaves) are very good for health as they are rich in antioxidant, iron and also a good source of dietary fiber. It is a very good lunch box dish for kids. Kids are very fussy to eat methi since has little bitter taste. But if you are making parathas or roti with methi the bitterness will not be there. It is very easy to make this roti. I used whole wheat flour, some spices and methi leaves to make this roti or paratha. Let us see how to make this roti.
- 2 cup wheat flour (atta)
- 1 cup tightly pressed methi leaves
- 2 chopped green chillies
- 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste (optional)
- 1/2 tsp dhaniya powder
- 1/2 tsp jeera
- 1/2 tsp amchur powder ( mango powder)
- 1/2 tsp chaat masala
- Salt to taste.
- 1 tbsp oil
- Water to mix.
Method
Wash and clean the methi leaves. Chop it.
Add all the ingredients to wheat flour.
Mix well.
Add water little by little.
Make a smooth dough.
Do not keep the dough for long time. It may get bitter taste of methi leaves.Divide the dough in to small equal portions.
Roll it in to round shape dusting wheat flour.
Heat a tawa. Put one roti on hot tawa.
Once bubbles started coming flip it.
Pour little oil or ghee and spread with a spatula.
Cook both sides and take out.
